Current Events

Below are the instructions for completing a current event. Current events are worth 1 POINT on your 9 weeks average.

1. Cut out a newspaper article or print a news article from an internet website about something happening in the world today. The article must have some connection to social studies. Do not cut out sports articles or anything having to do with the Hollywood movie stars.

2. Write a ½ page summary of the article. The summary must be HAND WRITTEN. No typing allowed. Give the basics of the article (Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?)

3. Bring the original article & the hand-written summary to class for 1 point
added to your 9 weeks average. You can earn a maximum of 9 points per 9 week grading period. You can only turn in 1 current event per day, and cannot turn in more than 9 in a 9 week grading period.
